Program Announcement & Modification: The Brass & Percussion Septet concert will proceed as scheduled on Monday, while 'Pearls of Baroque Music' is postponed
As part of the Dalmatian Cycle project, a top-tier musical experience blending the passion of Argentine tango, film classics, and rich local tradition will take place on Monday, November 2, starting at 8 PM at the Brothers Bersa Concert Hall in the Rector's Palace. Performing before the Zadar audience is the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra's Brass & Percussion Septet with an attractive program titled From Buenos Aires to Dubrovnik.

This unique ensemble consists of Damir Butigan on euphonium, Karmen Pervitić on percussion, trumpeters Džemal Cakić and Ivan Kušelj, horn players Toni Kursar and Martin Hrćan, and Alan Polzer on drums. Formed out of the need for chamber music-making during the 2020 pandemic restrictions, the group evolved from an initial quintet dedicated to early music into a powerful septet with a rich tonal palette. Their diverse repertoire spans classical, romantic, film music, jazz, funk, rock, and a distinctive ethno-crossover project based on traditional folk songs and dances of the Dubrovnik region, with Damir Butigan playing a key role in the arrangements. Audiences can look forward to a dynamic evening featuring works by Henry Mancini, Astor Piazzolla, Mario Nardelli, Gerardo Matos Rodríguez, as well as traditional songs and dances from the Dubrovnik region.

The Split-based Tijardović Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Hari Zlodre, will perform for the Zadar audience with the concert Pearls of Baroque Music. This musical event is scheduled for Thursday, November 19, starting at 8 PM in the Great Hall of the University of Zadar. Audiences can look forward to an elegant and inspired program dedicated to the masters of the Baroque era, featuring representative works by George Frideric Handel, Johann Georg Albrechtsberger, Henry Purcell, Francesco Manfredini, and Johann Sebastian Bach.

The Tijardović Chamber Orchestra - Split (KOTS) was founded in October 2023 on the initiative of Vanesa Kleva, Director of Hrvatski dom Split, and conductor Hari Zlodre, as a strong support system for Split soloists, music students, and visiting artists. The ensemble's members are prominent string soloists, professors from the Arts Academy in Split, teachers from the Josip Hatze Music School, and members of the Croatian National Theatre (HNK) Split Opera Orchestra. Named after the great Split composer, the orchestra symbolizes a broad and diverse scope of artistic activity, a reputation already confirmed by a series of acclaimed performances featuring works by Mozart, Wagner, Chopin, Debussy, Schoenberg, Respighi, and Tijardović himself.
The Dalmatian Cycle project is a joint initiative of the Zadar Concert Office, Hrvatski dom Split, the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, and the public cultural institutions Cultural Fortress Šibenik and Hvar 1612, supported financially by the Ministry of Culture and Media.
