thu, October 22nd, 2026

On Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 7:30 PM, the Atrium of the Providur's Palace will host a special musical encounter between two historic cities, featuring Dubrovnik's "Libertas" Mixed Choir and Zadar's "Zoranić" Croatian Singing Musical Society. Conducted by Viktor Lenert and Branka Višić Karavida, with piano accompaniment by Ivan Štorić, the program features masterworks by Bennet, Fauré, Mozart, and Verdi, alongside traditional and popular songs. Admission is free.

Founded in late 1980, Dubrovnik's "Libertas" Mixed Choir has delivered hundreds of performances across Croatia and abroad. Having collaborated throughout its history with legendary conductors like Lovro pl. Matačić and Boris Papandopulo, the ensemble has flourished under prof. Viktor Lenert since 1995 as a proud cultural ambassador of its city.

The host choir, HPGD "Zoranić", has been a cornerstone of Zadar’s cultural identity since 1908. Named after the author of the first Croatian novel, "Zoranić" has brought together generations of singers, maintaining an unbroken tradition and winning numerous awards across Europe.

"Zoranić" will open the evening with works by Bennet, Fauré, Cohen, and Groban, followed by "Libertas" performing classical and sacred pieces by Zajc, Mozart, Bortniansky, Franck, and Verdi, alongside beloved Dalmatian melodies and songs dedicated to Dubrovnik by Đelo Jusić.
