Terezija Cukrov, a pianist of "impressive strength and self-confidence" (New York Times), finds her artistic mission in presenting and performing on a historical instrument that was the forerunner of the modern piano - the fortepiano. The program presents two instruments and two composers from two different periods: Mozart on the fortepiano and Messiaen on the modern piano, a composer who particularly emphasized the purity and simplicity of Mozart's music, which is impossible to fully understand and experience without knowing the instrument for which it was intended.

Sonatas K. 281 and K. 284 evoke the brilliant sound array of Mozart's early creativity at the moment when he began to explore the possibilities of the new instrument developed in the second half of the 18th century and to shape his recognizable musical language. Over 150 years later, a young composer and visionary who from the very beginning thinks outside the given framework composes his Préludes, a fantastic rhapsody of colors, original modes, strong emotional charges and subjective impressions. The balance of Mozart's clarity contrasted with Messiaen's jungle of sound and (ir)regular structures will not leave you indifferent - treat yourself to the intimate atmosphere provided by the interpretation of this great pianist!

As a soloist and chamber musician, Terezija Cukrov performed in Europe, America and Asia. She made her debut with a solo recital at Carnegie Hall in 2008. She participated in the project for a prepared piano at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, and she also performed a recital on a toy piano at the Zagreb Music Biennale (2015). She held piano seminars in Croatia, the USA and Hong Kong and lectured on elements of folklore in the piano literature of Croatian composers at universities in Slovenia, Serbia, Russia and Georgia. After studying at the Academy of Music in Zagreb, she trained in Bergamo and Paris, received her master's degree at the Mannes Conservatory in New York and her doctorate at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, USA.
