Ensemble Profeti della Quinta was founded by singer and harpsichordist Elam Rotem in Israel’s Galilee, and today he works in Swiss Basel, where the members have continued their specialisation in performing early music at Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. With a focus on the vocal repertoire of the 16th and 17th centuries, the ensemble has dedicated to performing neglected repertoires, such as Ha'Shirim asher li'Shlomo by Salomone Rossi from 1623, the first collection of Hebrew polyphonic music.
