Pororoca
Alessandro Cau, drums and percussion
Tancredi Emmi, double bass
Federico Fenu, trombone and Farfisa organ
'Pororoca’ was released in October 2022 by 42 Records and TiConZero is the result of the encounter among the three Sardinian musicians Alessandro Cau, Tancredi Emmi and Federico Fenu.
Superb and close-knit musicians, who can boast of first-rate collaborations in the jazz scene and beyond, from Lee Ranaldo to Erik Truffaz, from Marcus Malone to Miles Cooper Seaton, passing through Any Other, Boredoms and Kid Millions.
The name of the record is a tribute to their attitude, because Pororoca (which can be translated as 'Great Destroying Noise') is the name of the Amazon's masque, i.e. a wave that due to the tides, goes up the river (and not vice versa), with heights of up to four meters.
The result is a new, contemporary jazz language, steeped in contamination, where for forty minutes composition and improvisation become one, in six tracks arranged for drums, double bass, trombone and Farfisa organ, with Adele Altro's voice as the only guest in the track Ottobre.
