The Duo Imaginations will perform compositions and improvisations by both musicians. Miroslav and Markus have performed together since the '90ties in various settings. Together they recorded several CDs. Their music is full of poetry, subtle and strong expressions, taking the audience to new dimensions of feeling and listening. Crossing the borders of musical style, they are true musical cosmopolitans, though preserving an highly authentic language in their playing. Both are masters of their instruments and have had a rich international career.
Markus Stockhausen, trumpet soloist and composer, son of world famous composer Karlheinz Stockhausen, has collaborated extensively with his father worldwide. He grew up with classical, jazz and avantguarde music alike, and since 2002 Markus focusses on his own composed an improvised music, including intuitive music that transcends all musical styles.
He lead and recorded numerous jazz projects. More than 90 CD recordings on ECM, ENJA, SONY/OKeh, EMIclassics and many others. As a teacher he regularly gives seminars on "Singing and Silence" as well as on "Intuitive Music And More". Winner of WDR Jazz prize 2005, JTI Jazz prize 2017, „Silberne Stimmgabel des Landes NRW 2017“, Echo Jazz prize 2018.
Guitarist, composer, improviser and educator Miroslav Tadic has concentrated on developing a musical approach which combines and juxtaposes musical material drawn from many diverse sources, including Baroque, European classical and North Indian classical music, Flamenco, Eastern European folk traditions, Blues, Jazz, and Rock.
Miroslav’s performing and recording projects include collaborations with London Symphony Orchestra, MDR Leipzig Symphony, The Philharmonic Orchestra of Monte-Carlo, Howard Levy, Joachim Kühn, L. Shankar, Markus Stockhausen, Dusan Bogdanovic, Vlatko Stefanovski, Teofilovic Brothers, Wadada Leo Smith, Jack Bruce, Theodosii Spassov, Kudsi Erguner, Djivan Gasparyan, Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri, Ustad Ashish Khan and many others.
Tadic is a dedicated teacher and Head of Guitar Studies at the prestigious California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles.
