LADO - Croatian Folk Dances and Songs Ensemble

The Croatian Folk Dances and Songs Ensemble, LADO, devotes great attention to collecting, adapting and performing of the Croatian traditional sacral music. Apart from Lent, Easter and Marian songs and masses, the sacral music repertoire mostly comprises the Christmas cycle songs that are usually performed by the Ensemble in their traditional Christmas concerts in cathedrals, churches and concert halls throughout Croatia. Radujte se, narodi, the 2017 Christmas-time vocal-instrumental programme present some of the most famous Christmas songs, prepared for the LADO by Dražen Kurilovčan and Zoran Jakunić. This is the first performance of the LADO ensemble in the St Nicholas’ Church. That venue was introduced in the previous concert season as a unique, unusual and acoustically flawless concert venue, through the performance of the Ensemble Antiphonus in collaboration with the International Centre for Underwater Archaeology.
