Organizers of the Musical Evenings at St Donatus have strived, even from the earliest days, to introduce the audience to young musicians from Zadar and Croatia in general. Many world-renowned musicians have performed at some point in their early years on the stages of the Musical Evenings. The Sorgo Ensemble, featuring musicians from Zadar, Osijek and Zagreb, was founded in 2013. Even as students, members of the ensemble (with a common interest in early music) honed their skills by teaching chamber music at the Music Academy in Zagreb in the class of Prof Laura Vadjon.

The Church of St Michael, dating from the 14th century and situated in a place that the locals of Zadar have always known as the Four Corners, will once again, after a long time, be one of the concert venues of the Evenings. The church features a choir with the oldest organ in Zadar, which originates from the circle of the famous organ builder Petar Nakić, and there are indications that the builder may have been Friar Šimun Lapčić. The organ was restored in 1990 by the company Heferer from Zagreb.
