64rd Musical Evenings at St Donatus
DIANA & VERONIKA ĆIKOVIĆ
TUESDAY, JULY 30TH | 09:00 PM H | ST DONATUS CHURCH
Diana Grubišić Ćiković, harp
Veronika Ćiković, harp
Renowned harpist Diana Grubišić Ćiković graduated in piano studies at the Academy of Music in Zagreb in the class of prof. Marije Gvozdić Horvat, and she completed her harp studies at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. Her contribution to the development of Croatian harpist pedagogy, to the enrichment of the repertoire through commissions of new Croatian works, editing of manuscripts, arranging and general promotion of the instrument is exceptional. Her daughter, Veronika Ćiković, is already skillfully following in her footsteps, who graduated from the Zagreb Academy of Music with special praise (magna cum laude). She is also the winner of many awards, currently at a specialist study on the topic of French music for the harp in the first half of the 20th century.
And it is precisely the French repertoire that forms the backbone of the evening's program. Reaching for transcriptions from the piano repertoire is, in a way, an homage to the professional path of the artist, but also a desire to further affirm and explore the specific formation of the harp duo. The composition Ples sablasti by Ivana Lang is performed in the editorial office of Diana Grubišić Ćiković, according to the author's unedited score.

ANA BATINICA & MATEA BILOSNIĆ
SATURDAY, AUGUST 3RD | 09:00 PM H | ST DONATUS CHURCH
Ana Batinica, flute
Matea Bilosnić, contemporary dance
The first association with the sound of the flute could be birdsong. It was with the Pticopjev project that Šibenik flutist Ana Batinica put the sound of the solo flute in all its many forms under the spotlight, as well as numerous new compositions by Croatian authors written specifically for her. La Folia or la folie is an old dance whose simple musical theme inspired many composers, including the baroque Marino Marais. His composition will serve as a connective tissue but also an inspiration for the interplay between sound, movement and light. Matea Bilosnić is one of the most interesting offshoots of the Zadar dance school, where individual dance expression is cultivated through the long-standing Monoplay solo dance festival.
Through episodes of monologues and dialogues, the two artists share their inner universe with the audience. Ana Batinica is the solo flutist of the Zagreb Philharmonic. Matea Bilosnić is a multimedia artist with a degree in contemporary dance and theater.
