On the occasion of 70 years of life and 50 years of career of Ljubomir Gašparović, pianist, full professor at the Academy of Music in Zagreb, restorer and together with his son Danijel the owner of the most valuable and largest collection of historical pianos in this part of Europe, piano duo Gašparović on Friday, November 19th will present Franz Schubert's monumental Fantasy, arguably the most complex work for piano four hands, a selection of extremely popular Hungarian dances by Johannes Brahms, a fantastic suite Ma mère l'Oye (My Mother Goose) by Maurice Ravel - inspired by Sleeping Beauty and other characters from fairy tales - and the Dance Suite of Boris Papandopulo, an attractive four-part work in which Papandopulo evokes the traditional dances of his time. The Zadar Chamber Orchestra opens its cycle on Monday, November 22nd, with a concert of symphonies by Sorkočević and Haydn conducted by Veton Marevci. Elvis Stanić Group, a jazz fusion group that combines the Mediterranean melody of traditional Croatian music with the rhythms of Latin expression and contemporary tendencies in jazz is coming to town on Saturday, November 27th.
